Old fiddle tune played on mandolin and guitar. I think this is Clyde Davenport, but am not 100% sure. I play both instruments. Still learning this on fiddle.

Me on mandolin and guitar. This tune is usually in A. I'm playing it here in D. At the time I recorded it I thought it sounded better in D and was mystified that fiddle players looked so disconcerted when I told them I wanted to play it in D. Now that I play fiddle some, I understand those looks.

I learaned this from an old Jeff Goehring recording. No-one I know, knows where he got it from. Instead of the banjo and filddle on that recording, I'm doing it with two fingerpicked mandolins.

I learned this from Rayna's version on her Ways of the World CD. This is a dark and crooked tune. no idea where she got it from. I'm playing here on Mandolin and guitar, cause I didn't own a fiddle at the time and had never entertained the idea of trying to play one.
