This was requested by Loy months ago and I finally recorded it tonight. Inspired by hearing Vassar's version many years ago. Vassar played it in E...I play it in D. Played on a deep, dark Chinese cornerless fiddle.

I'm getting an ugly scrunch sound on those pinky drone E notes because of my crippled pinky. Guess I should play these on the Fretter fiddle. This is my version of Dry & Dusty in AEAE

I learned it from the NLCR LP back in the 60's, but I recently started playing it in AEAE.

Learned it from Arkansas fiddler, Cotton Combs, back in the 70's. Played on a cheap Chinese Guarnerius with a penny stuck on top just behind the bridge to tone it down a little for recording.

I learned this as a kid, but I never found out its name. It resembles Durang's so I named it Mulberry Hornpipe after Mulberry, Ark. near where my dear old dad grew up in a one room log cabin with a dirt floor. The after-beat emphasis makes it one of the best dance tunes I know.

This is me in a live performance with "Stoney Creek" in a club in 1986. I also recorded it with "Mountain Smoke" a band that included 17 year old Vince Gill. I haven't played OBS in 20 years.
