I reckon that there ought to be a level between purty good and expert. Now that I am comfortable with double stops and can even vibrate notes with my pinky (what - old-time fiddler vibrating notes?), I'm not a newbie no more.
Anyway, since classical music snared me for old-time fiddling, y'all forgive me for vibrating notes on slow airs and waltzes, ya hear? Hm, classical and old time, if that's not an illustration of being double-minded, then I don't know what would be.
Maybe I can be thought of as a old-time aficionado that pretends to put on airs. Yeah, that'll work.
Sorry for not posting any tunes for a long time - my recording contraption's on button is busted. When I have some time I'll try to take it apart and graft in a replacement switch of sorts.

I left Cuba when I was 11 days old. I'm a refugee from the Disco craze and I was liberated from Caribbean dance music when I learned the Principles of Good Music -- hallelujah! I got into classical music, learning to play the guitar, recorder, flute and foddle (cello). I picked up the fiddle and faddle (viola) in June 2005 because of a multi-instrumentalist/fiddler friend of mine. I play the faddle in the church orchestra, and sometimes play the fiddle, foddle or guitar at church. I bought a 1943 Kay foeddle (bass) September 2006 and play it with the All Voluteer String Band for barn dances and local cultural events. I'm manic about American folk music, especially old-time music from downstate Illinois and the New England region of the USA, and fiddle music from Ireland, Scotland, England, Scandinavia, Europe, and Canada.
