I wrote this little tune yesterday. We're having a lot of icy weather here and it's cancelled a couple of my programs and a band job and probably lessons for the next couple of days. So, I decided to burn a little creative energy and honor it with a fiddle tune. I'll dedicate it to Chirps since it's a style he might play and I really enjoyed listening to him and his band when they were here last month. Let me know if you think I have plagerized some other tune. It's hard to not to do when you have a lot of music in your had. The beginning, (you'll love this old time fans...) was inspired by the beginning of the Mozart Violin Concerto number one. Seriously!

Very nice tune, Di. Sorry that it took an ice storm to coax it out of you. I'm glad for the cultural cross pollination between you/Kansas and Chirps/Illinois. I'm grateful to Kansas for my having been prompted to learn to fiddle, as my friend Tim Daniels of Leavenworth introduced me to fiddling.
With all the ice storms to which Kansas is subject, you might become the fiddle tune equivalent of the Play-Dough Factory. Here's to your productivity!

Sounds a bit like "Pretty Little Dog".
I think Chirps (MidwestFiddler) posted a rendition on his page.
Hmmm - wonder if "Pretty Little Dog" was inspired by Mozart too.... ;^)
Nice fiddling.

Very nice Diane. I honored to have a tune dedicated to me. The 1st part does bear some similarity to Pretty Little Dog as OTJ mentioned above. And yes I did post that one as a request for Diane.
I managed to get from St. Louis to Grayslake last Sunday through an ice storm in central IL. Ice everywhere but on I-55 thank goodness. Then, for good measure , we had one up here last on Tuesday/Wednesday. Didn't get too bad however. Roads stayed clear and not too much ice accumulation. I headed to St. Louis again today- taking the train this time. :-) I'll be playing a dance Saturday in Springfield, MO with Jim Nelson and Jim & Kim Lansford.

Diane,
Very nice tune and I enjoyed your playing of it as well. Maybe you could write one about a sunny day next? :)

I like the tune. But I think it sounds more like Clinch Mountain Backstep then a piece by Mozart!
