More About Me
I have been teaching alternative styles to string players for over ten years. I have a violin performance degree, but that was from my former life. I have played fiddle in several Bluegrass bands and still do play with our band Pastense from Topeka, KS. We play out regionally and have been together for several years. I also perform with other fellow musicians from time to time. I play guitar and mandolin too.
I quit my real job over 10 years ago to do what I loved and that is to play and teach music. I passionately feel that giving the gift of music to a fellow human being is one of the most rewarding experiences of my entire life.
When I teach, I teach to the student as they lead me. I have many long term relationships with my students of all ages as we have learned a lot together.
I am very good at identifying and fixing problems that frustrate fiddlers. I have seen people of all ages grow from struggling beginners to really decent players. I have watched their lives change as music has become a big part of their social and family lives.
I am never too busy to answer questions to the best of my ability so let me know if I can help you.
