Here is one of the tunes I mentioned in the 6/8 tune thread. I recorded it on my computer 7/10/2004. I had just remembered it and was a bit tentative but y'all can here how it goes. Key: Bb/F I got it from Jesse James Abbott of Toledo, IL. Chirps

Here's a quick rendition of the tune on my C.E. Waldorph octave fiddle. The fiddle was made in Brooklyn, IA and the date in the label is April 18, 1905. I'll try to get some photos up sometime soon. Recorded 10/2/07. Chirps

Tiqouse wanted to hear my Ron Poast Hardanger fiddle so here is my rendition of this tune as a Hardanger fiddle duet. This tune is also known as New Rigged Ship and, when not in 6/8 time, it's Green Willis. Recorded 3/8/05. Chirps

Here is Uncle Bob Walters playing this tune. This recording was made in the 1950s. In these sessions Lynn Holsclaw was on guitar and R. P. Christeson played pump organ and sometimes fiddle. Enjoy! Chirps

I heard this one from some old fiddlers in Illinois. Some fiddlers don't play many 6/8 tunes but it seems that if they play any at all its this one and/or Irish Washerwoman. Chirps 10/3/12

Mary Jo Murray requested this one. I plan to include it on CHR VOL 6, so here is a preview. This is the way I recall the tune. I always used the 1st spelling- Garry has it by the 2nd. That's the correct one no doubt. For a long while I had this title attached to the tune Indian Corn due to an old tape tune list transcription error. Some of you may have heard me play that as Ol's tune. Not so, this is really it. Both may be found in Dear Old Illinois.
