Great source of controversy, this tune is played in the style of Edden Hammons with the parts (aabb) organized both as he and Burl played them. I too once learned and played the festival version of this one but fell in Love with the subtleties and trills of Edden's version. It almost hurts anymore to hear the "other" version especially when folks leave so many notes out of even that basic one. To me, this example is what solo fiddling is all about ..... the fiddle fills in all of its own spaces ... any additional instrumentation would just make it
entirely different and take away from the fiddle's wonderful sound ... great job , thanks for posting it !
