I started playing violin when I was 46. I have zero background in music except a lifelong love of singing. Any time I could ever get my hands on a piano as a child and adult I played. I never was trained. I decided to learn to play piano, but I didn't have a piano and could afford the one I wanted. I remember that my sister had violin Lessons growing up... I started watching violin on You Tube and buying music and I was hooked, and thus a violinist was born. I took some lessons my first year, about 10-12, and had a recital. The rest of my violin learning has been from the internet and you tube. I am 100% devoted and dedicated to playing violin, there is pretty much nothing I'd rather do. I learned to play on a Franz Hoffman Concert Violin, Chinese, and I have a Fiddlerman Soloist violin that I play on now. I also recently purchased a Solid Body Electric Violin by Kinglos. I am learning to play with effects and amps and all that. But mostly I am pursuing my classical music and my fiddle tunes.
