60 in 2007. Playing old time, folk and blues on guitar since around 1961-62, got into banjo around 1999. Organized the Black banjo gathering 2005, Got a fiddle in 2002-2003, had starter lessons, but focused mainly on the banjo. My main love of fiddling is as a banjoist and especially a guitarist who loves to play with fiddlers and as a folklorist who writes about traditional Black music including fiddling. My personal tastes include Western Swing and Jazz fiddling as well as Bluegrass and old time music. I am always looking for people in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale area who would like to play music together. I dont like the idea of jamming. I do like a few people playing together in an organized and thoughtful way that approximates band playing, not big gatherings of 10 or more people playing in a manner that is not traditional. For playing I like old time music though I can play fair Bluegrass guitar. Tony
