I'm a PhD candidate in ethnomusicology at UC Santa Barbara, but I'm living back home in the Milwaukee area while I write my dissertation (on bagpiping in the Indian Himalayas!). I mostly play Irish traditional music, focusing on the music of Sliabh Luachra and West Kerry (partly because I love to play for set dancing). Lately, I've also been very interested in the old-time music of Wisconsin and neighboring states.
