Musically....
I'm doing more listening than playing.... not enough energy. Occasionally I do pick up an electric guitar and noodle away.
I was playing fiddle close to every days for about a week back about a month ago, but the energy to do that suddenly dissappeared.
Listening: Most frequently, a bluegrass gospel album of traditional hymns done by Randy Parmley and Continental Divide.
The playing and singing is impeccable, the fiddler is .... eh... senior moment... the one Eric has the instruction method by.
It's hard for me to imagine better bluegrass fiddling. (Edit- Ron Stewart!)
Also in rotation is an album of scripture songs done by black gospel choirs.
Also, a "Wow- Worship Orange" album from Y2K- common praise songs of the era done by Christian rock bands.
Also, an a cappella CD of unaccompanied hymns, and a contemporary choir arrangement of hymns about Jesus.
For some reason, none of those seem to "wear out their welcome".
On YouTube, I've discovered Welsh and English hymns.
On the health front.
Like I said, I have prostate cancer, consider advanced because it's in the pelvis and lower spine as well as the prostate and bladder. Some pain from the cancer, but not a lot, since I got one tumor zapped that was choking the spinal chord.
I can still drive, but I have almost no energy. I've retired from performing in nursing homes. More later... my energy is running out!

Hymns? Cool. I've been thinking lately that I'd really like to learn a few in that rough beautiful style that I've heard some of the old timers play.
I'm sorry to hear you're struggling health-wise. Whatever energy you do have -- hope you get to use it for something that makes you feel like it was well spent!

Good music seems to find its way to us when we need it. I have my favorite old hymns also.
Lauren Talley has a good song you may want to listen to, “I Will Trust In Christ”. It’s on you tube. She has the right message.
I know you enjoyed playing at the nursing homes and I know you must miss it. For several years my little group would go around to different churches and singings and play a few songs, people seemed to always enjoy it. Can’t do it anymore, it’s hard to give that stuff up, especially when you’re making a positive impact on someone’s life.
I’m hoping for you

The odd thing is that I don't actually miss the performing... and like you, I thought I would!
Lauren Talley? Sounds familiar.... I'll have to check that out!

The thing I actually miss is getting out and socializing afterwards with activities people and taking my time shopping and bumping into people at TJ's and other places. Now, I only have the energy to go in, grab the stuff, pay for it and leave. Never "run into" any old friends that way.
