It was the seventh grade. January, right after the Christmas vacation. The teacher allowed each kid to stand and tell what they had gotten for Christmas. I listened to all of the neat stuff that other kids had gotten, stuff that I didn't receive.. I wasn't jealous...maybe envious.. While I wasn't unhappy with what my father had gotten me, I was intimidated by hearing about what gifts that the other kids listed...So, when it came to me, I stood up and lied about what I'd gotten..and just mentioned things that I'd heard the other kids say. Maybe some of them also lied. I'll never know. It was tough being an awkward kid. These days, I'm content to receive some Neccos and Sardines..and to receive calls from the kids.

Every boy at 12 years old is awkward.... Maybe you were lucky to have it together at that age.. I had NO idea what was going on...
