Alex was about four years old and in pre-school..One day he came home with 'homework'.. He had a large sheet of lined paper and he was to trace the number ONE onto it. No problem for him..! Then, the very next day, he came home with a similar homework sheet of paper with the number 2 on it.. He was to copy that number onto other spaces on the sheet.. That was "WAY TOO HARD".. he said...He refused to copy the number 2 and made me promise that I'd tell the teacher that it was too hard for him and that she was to never make him do the number 2 again..I promised. The next day we went to school and to the teacher, and in front a beaming, smiling Alex, I said, "Carine, the number 2 is Way too hard for Alex and I never want you to make him write again.." She agreed that she wouldn't...She and I winked at each other and I left as Alex went to play with the other kids...
