Who am I?

Since I neglected to setup a Fiddle Hangout account for ever (or if I did, I forgot the old account information), I figured that I would add some more information about myself to continue the search for new "Old-Time" musicians in Alaska.

I started playing fiddle after going to a jam session in McClurg Missouri in 2004. At that time, I was only playing guitar and harmonica. I was not familiar with old-time, traditional, or mountain music. McClurg became my home jam until 2015 when I moved to Anchorage Alaska.

Before moving, I had developed my abilities as a musician to include Clawhammer style banjo (even started building banjos), mandolin, and became a much better guitar player. I began playing with various bands and playing gigs all over. I began working on instruments in my spare time after my IT day job and then when I began to figure out how to play clawhammer, I decided to invest in building tools. I've had a Banjo Hangout account for a little while.

I then began to repair instruments for friends, family, strangers from the internet, and then eventually, I began to repair instruments for music stores. I had an active Facebook page at Ozark Songbird Banjo Co. for a while, but after moving, it has simply laid dormant in the hopes of beginning once again when finances and location allows.

Right now, I am limited on what I can do. My business is slow to start and in order to pay the bills, I am seeking work from other employment.

So, I have been seeking jam sessions to begin getting acclimated to the area music scene. I have found out about two Old-Time jams in Anchorage that I will be going to.

So....Say hi! If you're in Alaska...definately hit me up via message. Just say hi or whatever. I look forward to meeting new people.

Interesting history. I went to McClurg twice. That's where I met Bob Holt.
