Well, it's all done. My wife is now officially approved after 1 year and countless fees, paperwork...
She has her green card..
We'll be in the US permanently sometime in late August. Lot's of work to do, painting, organizing...getting things ready. I also already have two confirmed interviews so we are feeling hopeful.
Been practicing and playing every day as always. Soon I'll be jamming more regularly and taking lessons again, I'm very excited!

Great news! Congratulations!
I just went through the painting, organizing, and getting-ready-to-move thing. It's hard work but it's also very satisfying!

Glad to hear it!!!
Us actually getting together to jam will still be unlikely, unfortunately, but maybe you'll be able to get together with some other Hangouters, jam, and tell us all about it!
Two thousand two fifty-six miles and Louisville, would come into my view.
Two thousand two fifty-six miles on I-80, I'd never more be blue!

We'll be living with my mom in Florida for the first 6 months or more....per immigrations orders. After that we can change address. They sent my wife her passport with a special little "visa page" stitched in it. Also a packet that she can't open and has to hand to the customs officials when we arrive at the airport in the US. Also on top of that, her x-rays from her physical LOL. This was 9 months, about 3 thousand bucks and 500 pages of paperwork in total.

So, she doesn't get to be a citizen because you're married? I don't get it. My ex wife married her dad's illegal farm hand (Mexican) so he could be a citizen; why wouldn't your legitimate marriage be enough?
I ask a lot of questions.

In 3 years she can apply for citizenship....they don't give automatic citizenship via marriage...

I always suspected as much; my ex is a wack job.
