I have a fiddle I acquired on Ebay a few years back, the label says:
J.B. Howell
Glendale,Oregon
I looked him up online and found references that seem to indicate he was primarily a jeweler, but also an instrument maker who lived in Glendale Oregon and later, Grant's Pass, Oregon. Looks like he lived in the late 1800's/early 1900's. Does anyone have any other info on him?

Best to post this type of question in the forum; more people will see it since only a small percentage seem to read the blogs.

Hello Carolyn. He is shown on the Amati.com site as John B. Howell:
amati.com/maker/howell-john-b.html
A quick search on Ancestry.com for John B. Howell of Grants Pass resulted in some hits that suggested his full name might be John Banks Howell. So I searched on that name and found this:
wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-b...502105413
Looks like he's your man.
