Greetings to all you Chicago-Land fiddlers,
I hope you can join me this Saturday at William Harris Lee Violins in Wilmette for our next North Shore Fiddle Workshop. All this gently falling snow outside has put me in a waltzing mood so I’m calling this the Wilmette Waltz Wonderland. We’re going to play a Canadian waltz from Don Messer called the Good Neighbour. Then we’ll try another that comes from an old Scottish song entitled Rosebud of Avondale (aka Rose of Allendale, Rose... of Sharon, etc.). We’ll finish up with an standby called Westphalia Waltz, which you may already know. I’m going to stretch a little on this one and we’ll see if we can find some nice harmonies.
It’s all happening this Saturday, February 7, from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM. The address is 1138 Central Avenue in downtown Wilmette. Free parking, too.
Register in advance at: http://www.charliewalden.com/Sessions.htm.
See you soon,
Charlie Walden
