Can it really be a month since Christmas? It does seem like it here on Crow Hill. Daffodils are poking up through the leaf litter, the witch hazel is displaying newly opened fuchsia-colored blossoms, and the list of spring projects is obtaining a new sense of gotta-get-started.
Actually, I've already gotten a good start on one exciting spring project, which is a new CD that I'll be recording in late March at Joe Dejarnette's studio up in Floyd, VA. It's nominally to be a "solo" album, but I'll be having help on some tracks from some good friends who happen to be awesome old-time musicians, including my Bow Bender bandmates Erynn Marshall, Carl Jones, and Bobb Head. It will (of course) feature lots of fiddling, with great old-time traditional tunes and a generous offering of newly-made tunes...along with a bit of banjo playing and singing. I'm practicing 'em every day.
So I'll be posting more news on this in the coming weeks, and I hope that you'll stay tuned!
