The Gliga is here, pictures coming soon. Looks good enough to eat...I think the set up will be very minimal

So, how are you and the Gliga getting along? Thought about recording with it?

Hello Michael - Yes I have thought about recording with it. I've been playing the Fiddle ALOT the last few days and getting aquainted with it. I've got the action nice and low and it's soo easy to play and slide on, it's a real joy. It was definately a leap of faith gone well, these came recommended and I can quickly see why. It's a little tight sounding yet, just needs to be played and open up, but in the few days or so I can already hear it loosening up, especially the G and D strings. The E string is not too shrill, it has a very pleasing tone to say the least. beyond that i think it's the "comfort" of playing more than anything. Folks don't like the tailpiece or the chinrest, at first I didn't like the chin rest on it but now I like it better than the other one. Either way, Im not too picky really. Of the 2 Carbon Fiber bows the P & H beats the "Premier" hands down. It has a good feel to it, nicely balanced ( for TUF fiddlers like us ) and I'd say you can't beat it for just $79 bucks. I'll try and record something with it all pretty soon so everyone can see and hear it.

Either way, I mean, I haven't played alot of fiddles, but I dunno if I would call it mellow, but it's not as harsh as my old Fiddle, but my wife says my new Gliga is louder, however, I don't think it is louder.....maybe it throws the sound out a bit better. So, lot's of folks call these Gligas mellow, maybe it is mellow compared to your Fiddles.....I do think it needs to be played open and loosen up but it's nice. I can feel it resonate very well and it's SUPER light, which I like. I was fraid it would be beefy and heavy, not at all.
