Thanks! You're awfully kind to call it great. I figure I've got a year of sounding pretty bad to come so...only 49 weeks to go!

Also you may want to experiment with putting the thumb in the notch of the bow under the stick "TUS"...or the "Sushi" er "Suzuki" method of thumb-under-the-frog: "TUF" I was doing TUS for a while then I switched to TUF.....either works anyone else who says one or the other is full of it

I've been using TUF pretty much from the get go, tho' I'll experiment around a bit more with the hold & see if I get looser.

Hahahaha....not at all....just trying to help out and spreading the fiddle knowledge that the guiys here have spread with me... you'll be fine....I'll predict you'll be a very good Fiddle player.......but....if you don't "drop-thumb" on the Banjo.....that's deifnately not cool LOL!!!

The colle motion really helped me to get the bowing down....It was weird and frustrating at first.....nothing like watching TV and movies while sitting there doing the "jellyfish" motion thing.....but it really helps. Once I had a bit of a breakthrough wit the bowing, things began to fall in place....even though....what do I know...I'm still wearing fiddle diapers

Well, I've bee n working on my bowing wrist trying to use the proper motion instead of a robot arm. It made a big difference. Sounds a bit better tonewise & I'm not travelling all over the place with my bow--you know...there it goes up the fingerboard, now its hitting the bridge, etc. Relatively straight and now maybe ALMOST relaxed...
Thanks for the tips, Erik!
