I recently added a couple more fiddles to the family of fiddles I have.
One, a German copy of a Stradivarius, needs some tender loving care including a neck set; then it'll be a fine sounding fiddle. The back has really nice flame, as do the sides and neck. The top is a good looking piece of spruce. Everything seems to be intact, although the fiddle has been apart and the neck glued on rather sloppily.
The second fiddle I received is an E. Monheimer "Guarnerius" copy that is in excellent shape. The sound of this violin is awesome! I replaced the old strings with Helicore mediums and replaced and reshaped the bridge and it's hard to put this instrument down to pick up my other ones.
A couple of fine additions to the "Family".
