Hey!

like this

I've been gone for 6 months but it feels like years.  I've started practicing the fiddle again and enjoying it as before.  I've scanned some of the conversations and it's nice to see that most of you are still here with some new blood also.  I'm ready to buckle down again and look forward to you folks making the journey easier with your tips and suggestions.

Wow....welcome back! Missed you!

I'm still playing drums, too.
Drums are set up in the living room and all muted down. Still fun though!

But I did kind of let drums slide for a while. Sometimes it's good to do that- it can seem fresher and more fun when you come back to it! If you stop for a while, and don't miss it, why start again? But if you find yourself missing it, then you know it's probably a keeper!

Michael, glad to hear that you're still drumming. I picked up a lap steel that I'm having fun with.
Cynthia, thank you.
Curt, thanks for the warm and fuzzies.

How was your go at the squeeze box?

Heeeeeyyyyyy! back to ya, Chickenman.

Fiddlephile, squeeze box is cool. I got comfy enough to use it if I want that texture on a recording, but I don't love it enough to play it constantly, same as I just picked up a lap steel. It's a wonderful texture, like a spice which is wonderful so long as it doesn't overpower the dish that you're cooking.

Okay--I wanna update. Which tunes are you workin' on? Or if not tunage, just whatage are you workin' on? Okay, if you really wanna be a stickler, "On what tunage are you workin'?" Always wanting me to precede the object of the preposition with the doggone preposition! Anyhooooooooo. How's vibrato? How's non-vibrato? Which musical motif has grabbed your existential core?

Hey, Joebob!

Humbled, here I just wanna fiddle and you start in with the technical questions about existential core. They're synthetic strings, that's all I know. Whether it's a Kevlar or existential core is something they don't mention on the package. When I change strings next time I'll keep an eye out for these. I assume that your playing has improved exponentially with this new modern existential core string.

Hello Steve:

It's so good to see you around again. Interestingly, I just started "hanging out" here again. Although I hadn't stopped playing, I hadn't been participating in FHO for several months. But when I came back, I checked the pages of some of my friends, and noticed that you were on a fiddle hiatus. So I was surprised when I saw a reply from you a few days ago.

Happy Fiddling and Best Wishes,

Frank
