Well, it's official! I came into a bonus this June coming plus some extra commissions from some large sales I made back in February so I was given permission to use that money to invest in a little bit better fiddle. After alot of research and speaking with many different fiddle players, I determined the best value in my budget category was a "Gliga-Genial 1-Antiqued Oil-Finish" and I should accept delivery on the instrument sometime in June.
Also, I've been working hard on a loose wrist with flexible fingers and keeping a straight bow. Some days, obviously, are better than others but I'm making steady progress. I'm also playing alot I mean ALOT of scales and learning a bit of 2nd position and even a touch of 3rd position on the fiddle. I know these aren't common keys in old-time fiddle but I'd like to be able to play some Bluegrass as well and be a versatile fiddler....I decided on that after getting into the instrument. Since I already play Mandolin and fretless Banjo, I've put those instruments aside for now to focus exclusively on learning the fiddle, which I hope to make my primary instrument eventually.

Yippy, happy dance. A new fiddle always seems to inspire one to play more and try harder, good luck.
