ok
so i am a beginning fiddle player.
i have a 1989 scherle and roth violin and it's ok (i suppose)
i need a better bow >
i know everyone will say i need to play them to decide
but i am interested in what others may choose and why.
so......
if you were regulated to an island for and extended period
and could bring a bow for your fiddle

I would find either a quality used carbon fiber bow or one that is on sale for $100... islands are humid places and wood bows go soft quickly...

I think a compound bow would be very helpful to shoot down coconuts. Careful, though, coconuts can be vicious if wounded.

Carbon fiber bow sounds good to me.
Supposedly Shar Music will ship you bows to try out, you pick one, buy it and send the rest back.
They supposedly also have house-brand economy carbon fiber bows that are pretty good and pretty cheap.
