Actually, I like the instrument, but there were some traumatic moments getting there. I hope that the next time I attempt this model I can avoid some of the mistakes, and do a better job. It will have to wait, though, as I have other projects pressing. Meanwhile, this one plays well, very easily, and very balanced. The only strings I had were some light Dominants, so it is not as powerful as I had hoped. I will try heavier strings later.
Thanks for looking. Sorry I kept you waiting so long. :-)

Thanks, folks! I hope it turns out a winner in the tone department. It sounds good to me, but I have fairly significant hearing loss, so what I think really doesn't matter. The question will be "What does a professional player think?".

You ever get the pro to play it? Have you sold it already, if not what is the asking price?

The fellow will be playing it tomorrow afternoon, if the weather permits. We are having an ice storm at the moment, and it could get bad. We'll see what morning brings.

Well, the weather cleared up, the violinist loved the instrument, and took it with him to his orchestra practice this evening, to show to his friends. He will keep it for a few weeks, to play it in a bit, and see how it opens up. It was a good experience all the way around. We'll see what comes of it.
