I was on antibiotics for an intestinal infection a couple of months ago, and that cleared up an ear infection. But a combination of smoke from forest fires, and dust and pollen kicked up by nut harvest has been closing up my ears again, and now they are definitely showing signs of infection. I should have called in sick to the gig today and gone to the clinic... but didn't, so I'll have to do it tomorrow.
I can still hear the fiddle fine, being under my ear, but now the infection is sapping my energy and making me woozy, so it's hard to play much, and conversations are getting hard to hear.
LATER....
No apparent infection?
At least the doc doesn't think so- said when he looked inside that he couldn't see signs of infection... put me on a more stringent regime of antihistamines and a topical steroid inhaler to reduce inflammation and open things up.
When I picked up the prescription, the pharmacist doing the consulting says what I'm dealing with is not unusual... the one two punch of smoke from forest fires followed by the normal nut harvest's dust and pollen is really messing people up.

Was listening to the nightly news regarding the bad pollen in the US...it's got people experiencing allergies that have never had them before!! Take it easy...all those meds make me go to sleep!!! Heal..and then play! Take care!
