I just started doing my own blog.
A blog about violins, violas and other bowed instruments.
The first posts are about different contact pickups and miniature microphones all with details about mounting and sound samples.

I paid $339.00 for my new Fishman V-200 violin pick-up. The Fishman pick-up I had before this one lasted me over 20 years...I'm 60 years of age next year!

339 sounds expensive for that pickup.
But if you like the sound of your v-200 and it lasts you another 20years, then you are well off.
Do you use it with a preamp? (with piezos the preamp can be more important than the pickup itself)

I use a Boss FET Amplifier FA-1, if thats what you call a pre-amp, great sound! Point is, if I look after this one as I did the old one I won't ever be needing any other kind of pick-up for the rest of my life.

Yes, it may have been expensive all those years ago when I bought it. But whats 20 bucks or so?

Leads are important to the sound as well.

"Leads are important to the sound as well."
Personally I have a couple of different mic and pickup systems, which I use for different applications.
