What a busy time the last month has been. I went back to Illinois in the middle of December to be with Family. My oldest son got sick an wasn't able to make it. but we all had a pretty good time, I think.
I got to jam with Peter Fagan and Tom Faux ( both are great claw hammer players). I visited the monthly jam in Shelbyville IL. That was a pretty good time. I got to jam with the folks outside the food coop. Then I came back to my job in Arizona.
I was back less than a week when my mom (86) got to feeling poorly, went into the hospital, and died. So I went back to Illinois for the wake and funeral. It was a pretty emotional time for me and the rest of my family. I flew back to Arizona again last Friday in the teeth of a snowstorm and rapidly dropping temperatures. Deplaning at Tucson was a very enjoyably sensation. Then back to Sierra Vista to link up with my banjo buddy for a long drive across the state to Yuma. The Territorial Chapter of the AZOT Fiddlers association fiddle contest was there. A VERY good time was had by all. I even got to meet " Henry the Fiddler " who was trying his luck with the judges.
After writing this and reflecting again on everything that happened, it doesn't seem possible that this couple of short paragraphs covers it, but I guess that it does. I've slept in six beds since the middle of December. No wonder I'm tired. There was good music all through it all, maybe that's why I'm still sane ( or am I)
