Hello, everyone! By mistake a company last month sent me the wrong size violin. I ordered a 1/2 size and received shipped to the house an 4/4 size. It is a beautiful darker colored violin. Instead of returning the precious instrument, I decided to keep it for a future adult student. So, if anyone out in this local area, Southern Illinois is looking to rent or purchase an instrument to play please email me or give me a call. Note: You don't have to sign up for lessons, however, a jam session would be much appreciated!
I played my violin this weekend first time in a while. Did very well in fact, I got through a tough song by Vivaldi out of Suzuki Book 5. I have been working on this book off and on over the years. Needless to say, I think I am getting back into the groove and this is coming back to me full circle yet even more so than I could imagine. I thank God that I never gave up my gift for music. Thank you, Fiddle Hangout and friends for encouraging me to keep playing. I played for my friend David S., the other night. The next morning he was found dead in his home. I am thankful for his 7 year friendship and he will be dearly missed. I am very happy that I got to finally perform on both the keyboard and violin for him. I have a new song I am working on the keyboard right now since then. It is titled "Cherish" by Madonna. I have the sheet music for it. The song has a simple melody and the page turns are not that bad.
I believe my gift of music I was born with this and it will always be part of my life. I love teaching and giving back to the community. I am thinking of doing some local volunteer work. I think I did some volunteering in the past through my old Symphony organization. I miss the Joliet Symphony and hope they are doing well. I have a new child student right now and she is precious and I am really starting to feel like I am bonding with her. This week will make a month she has been playing and been my client. I pray that she will continue to grow her gift and love of music and blossom into the lovely young woman that I know she will become. I hope to be part of this family's life for a long time for years to come. While I enjoy performing on stage and jam sessions with locales now and then I also like traveling to people's home and teaching their young children. If you have a child that wants to learn and are seriously looking for a teacher please call me. I can find a perfect instrument and music for your child to start. I can start your child playing within a week once I find the instrument and buy the music and folding stand. Rental includes the instrument complete with bow and case, two to three lessons books, music dictionary, and folding stand. If a chair is needed for the lesson I will bring my own for your child to sit and play on every week. This is easiest for me at this time. Any questions I am here on Fiddle Hangout and online.
