I guess yerh.. and mabie it's also got some thing to do with the haunting nature that's usually assosiated with the mountains?.
I just looked at this Himalayaen music on youtube and same thing goes for that. Really amazing stuff.

Definitely so in the US, though they're apt to show up pretty often in the flatlands too . . .
