Finally getting somewere

Hey everyone well after a bit of a slow start i have now got me a teacher.

First lesson starts on the 15th so until then gonna learn as much as i can with of course all the help you guys have given me.

thats grate glad you looked a round alittle found a teacher thats what you need a lot of grate fiddle players come from scotland , celtic, blue grass, country thats ahand full good luck to get good you will have to spend a lot of time on the fiddle ask a lot of question as you learn it will get much easyer go girl you can do it and keep fiddlen

That's wonderful that you're interested in traditional Scottish fiddling, since it's part of your heritage and you have a great instructor close by. I'm drawn to that style, also, but there's no instructors in my neck of the woods, for that style. Congradulations.

I'm glad you got a teacher...I went for about 6 months before finding one, and had to unlearn all sorts of bad habits...still unlearning them!! So, it's easier to start out right than it is to back track!! Enjoy..and just be more stubborn than the fiddle!!

i have a question for you my folks lived on a farm they would make there oun butter, cheese my uncle would come over see the milk that was turning to cheese he would take a glass drink it say ah bonny claber that was good is that how the scottish people would say it?? like butter milk i would think. any way i hope you new teacher works well for you wishing you the best one more thing don,t give up it takes time to play well

Scottish fiddling yessss! I've got Alisdair Fraser living near me, great; got Jonny Cunningham videos to watch and records to listen to; got my Jonny Hardy records, etc. So many great ones. Now if only I could play as well as these guys. I'm thinkin' it'll take me another few months.
