Just this past weekend I had an intense schedule of performances. First an appearance on Channel 10 TV, then the next day, WMNF radio, and finally on Sunday a brief concert with Big Jim Allen at the Ukelele fund raising event.
Listening to my playing on the radio web site, I was not happy with my sound. My improv sounded disjointed, and not musically inspired. The number of licks was great, but just not well put together.
I'm thinking it's time to get back to practicing my improv as well as fiddle tunes.
On the other hand, I feel good about finishing a fresh fiddle tab chart of Jackie Tar. I found this tune in the Peter Cooper book, and it's a favorite hornpipe. You will find it on my 100 Fiddle Tunes blog.
