Jam, Ya'll?
Looking to start a Jam in Jackson, Mississippi! I have the location with A/C large area of 4,000 square foot picking parlor, large parking lot. Inside we even have a Kitchen to use.
Located in South Jackson, MS on Terry Rd. & Woody Dr. all are welcome so come on folks let's get this Jam going! For more info contact me and we'll get them Banjo's Ringing, Them Basses Thumping, Those Mandolins Chunking & Them Fiddles a Singing & Those Resonators a Resonating.

Make sure you get it on the FHO calendar, people do check it. Also post it on the calendars at Banjo Hangout, Mando Hangout and all the other hangouts. Then put it on folkjam.org.
Check your local public TV and radio stations since they usually have community calendars where you can post it for free. Send a press release out to your local paper. Post a flyer in the local music shops and at the local colleges and universities, especially in the music department. And hand out flyers at the local jams in other genres, since many of the Irish Trad, bluegrass and OT players play in more than one genre.

I appreciate the advice and will comply with all of it. There are several Jams around but they are 60 to 80 miles away. that's why I'm trying to get one started locally here in Jackson, MS

You may want to visit the pickin' at the D'Lo Community Center on the third Tuesday of every month at 6:30pm. I started this three years ago when I lived there and it is still going on. There are folks from Jackson, Brandon, Wesson, Hazlehurst and other areas around Jackson who come to it. I'm sure some of those folks would be interested in coming to yours if they knew about it.
