When I first stated on this Hangout, I had only been playing for a couple months and I thought it would be nice to record at intervals, to have a record of my progress, so I recorded something at the 3 month mark and the one year mark. Yes, I knew the fiddle didn't sound how I wanted it to sound, but I went ahead and shamelessly posted it, knowing that people here would be supportive. But, somehow, at the two year mark, which I had intended on recording something for, I didn't. I kept hearing my shortcomings in practice, and kept telling myself that maybe in anouther week or two it would be presentable. I tried recording something once, and was embarassed at how it sounded, so I let it slide. Well, this morning, I woke up and after my practice, I decided that enough was enough and I was going to record something, whether it sounded good or not. So I spent all day laying down tracts and it's not perfect, but it's a good record of my playing at the (now, after all my procrastination) 2 year and 4 month mark. Once I got stared, I had fun laying down all the different instruments. It's not perfect, but it's a good record of my playing at this point in time, which IS the whole point. Maybe tomorrow, my wife can figure out again, how to post stuff, 'cause I've never quite figured it out. Anyway, I feel good that I stopped procrastinating......'till the 3 year mark, anyway.

Thanks, Cynthia. Still getting the hang of recording fiddle and mixing it.
