Leaps & Bounds on bow Grip & Bowing

Posted by Moonpie50 on Thursday, May 12, 2011

I have been going over Gordon Stobbe's "The 12 things your right hand should know". I have learned so much already off this video this week. Just on the bow grip and bowing....it is amazing...my right hand is so much more relaxed and I am use more of my wrist to do the work.  My bowing has become more fluid in motion and I am getting better intonation. He has wonderful up close illustrations of the pros bow hand and it illustrates very well how fluid your hand must be. This has helped me to understand a whole lot. I have felt that I have made a major leap with my fiddle this week.

That IS exciting! I've had someone help me with technique things a couple of times over the past few months and it IS amazing how much difference little changes seem to make.

Great vid, and it's nice how he shows the variations of the different fiddlers. What a treasure trove of info!
