South Carolina State Fiddle Association
South Carolina now has a fiddle association for all those interested.The mission is to promote fiddle competitions in SC..The competitions will be held regionally throughout the state at selected venues. These contests will each produce talented acoustic musicians in the ol'time / bluegrass styles. These winners will then be invited to compete for the state title at the South Carolina State Fiddlers Convention in Walhalla S.C. Oct. 7th& 8th, 2011.
The South Carolina State Fiddle Association will be accepting members in a couple of weeks with benefits available.

The first meeting will be Tuesday, Mar. 29, 7pm at Walhalla Civic Auditorium, Walhalla S.C.

I attended the first meeting last night, very excited to see this take shape, move forward and grow. This area is ripe for a really good fiddlers association with the talent that is found here, and am looking forward to see what the future brings for young talent here as well.

Had the same question. Outside of the SC Fiddle Championship at Hagood Mill in September, I don't know of anything.
