Hot, Hot Jazz.....

Posted by eerohero on Saturday, January 1, 2011

Improvising in Gypsy Swing Violin, was easier than I could ever dream off, those of You interested of it, check out the Video: (I received this adress from some player at FHO, I Guess, it was Layne?)

www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQwOQRCXujs

its a very old Russian Folk Tune "Ochi Chornea",Dark Eyes. Dutchman,Tim Kliphuis teaches this in a very easy way, first the melody line, then adding some very jazzy notes to it, further some rhythm and harmony, what a way to learn !

A whole new world opened up for me and for so many others. Its tons of Fun !

Further, you may add this learning method by Ear to any song and to any Music Style.Bye, Bye , tons of Sheetmusic books.

I believe Dark Eyes is for download or purchaseable somewhere at the Universe, in Swing Style or Gypsy Version of it.

If You feel for this, get into it by Ear, its easier than you may think, you may always slow it down for learnings , I didnt do that, its another Challenge to beat, I love them all.

My teacher plays Gypsy jazz. If only I had the talent and skill for it . . . Have you heard Django Reinhardt play Dark Eyes? Pretty amazing stuff. I agree.

Yes, Ive heard Django, will look up Dark Eyes played by Him.
If I got the time needed ,I would play that kind of guitar also, for now, learning to improvise in this style with the fiddle takes all my practice time.

puffy shirt I have already, its purty common in South America, and in some eastern Europe Countries, thats great, You`re thinking about clothings, its a part of the entertainment.A Stetson will do just fine also, Johnny Gimble was a Master of this style with Western Swing influence to it.

We have an incredible swing fiddler in these parts, and it's so fun to play with him. He makes my "Maiden's Prayer" sound incredible because he flawlessly plays a harmony way up in the second and third positions WOW and intonates and vibratoes and such fun. Good luck to your fiddling in 2011 eerohero.
