The Live Jason Ringenberg album is released!

Posted by hwharton85 on Friday, January 18, 2008

Passing this on from Arty Hill:

My buddy Jason Ringenberg has just released a 2 CD career retrospective, Best Tracks and Side Tracks, 1979-2007.  CD 1 compiles the "best of" Jason's recording career, as well as some new versions of his best-known Scorcher material.  CD 2 includes alternate takes, covers, and a bunch of other fun stuff - including me and Jason's live country version of the Scorcher butt-kicker "Cappuccino Rosie," with Heather Twigg on fiddle (recorded live at the Creative Alliance at the Patterson).

By way of background, Jason was one of my first country music heroes.  In the early 80s, I saw Jason & the Scorchers' LP "Fervor" at a record store.  The cover photo included a Hank Williams poster.  Not many folks were acknowledging Hank back then, so that made a big impression on me, as did the killer music and lyrics inside.  The Scorchers, and Jason's soulful writing and singing, are a big factor in my continuing belief that Hank's music was not (and is not) a thing of the past.

So if you'd like to get ya'll some soul, here's the link to Jason's website where you can purchase Best Tracks and Side Tracks:

Whoa! Nice! thanks for the heads up, I'm a huge Jason And The Scorcher's fan. The recordings of Country Roads and 200 Proof Loving changed my entire view on country music. Congratulations to you as well Heather for getting to play on the CD. I''m really looking forward to getting this one!
