Put together and maintained by Lesley Nelson-Burns (aka Contemplator). The first link is to the Introduction page, which is rather helpful before you start exploring the massive file content that is located on the Folk page(second link). Tunes are mostly midi files, with lyrics and a brief historical context narrative. This site is very well constructed and kept up - an obvious labor of love on Mrs. Nelson-Burns' part. Tunes are broken down into ten or so catagories, also by country of origin, and there is a Search function as well. Also on the site are a number of historical writings on folk music, some short histories and biographies (Lesley received her M.A. in History from Shippensburg University), and a folk music microencyclopedia.
