Mountain Veiw WOW!!!

Hi Folks,

Just back to Ohio and since we don’t have a phone line or any internet available at the cabin and only limited cell service, I might be a bit out of touch for a few weeks. I had to come into town and go to the library to take care of some business like this, but it’s worth it.

Clawcamp is coming up soon, and yes, there are a couple of spots left, but do hurry. We head down to Texas for Gerald Jones’ Acoustic Music Camp and back to Yuma after that only to bounce up to a couple of concerts in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Buhla, Colorado on the way up to Fort Collins for the new festival there.

I had a FABULOUS time over in Mountain View, Arkansas! WOW, music every day and night. I think I played more music up on the square each night than I have played at Clifftop ever.

Martin (M-D) and Judy were great to hang with. I am thinking that Martin may be my long lost brother and have to say we really hit it off. Banjo Jenny the Soap Maker was a scream as were all folks I met at The Folk Center and on the Square. Punkin is one heck of a dancer as is here husband and with a big dance floor out in front of the courthouse, and at least 10 of us each night playing old time music, there was lots of fun happening on the square. Only thing most folks said was, “Faster”! Well, we didn’t need any encouragement there. Then there is the Poole’s Music Store – wow again. Guitars and banjos and fiddles oh my.

And the Ozark Folk Center! Carl Adkins runs a great ship there and when you add up the classrooms, historic village, theater AND a great restaurant right on the grounds, it is a self-contained piece of historic and traditional music paradise. Not to mention that the Ozark RV Park is right next door and a short walk through the woods away. Hmmm…. Thinking next year might have to be longer. I have to send them some ideas for workshops there next year so we can get back soon!

What do you think, Clawcamp Ozarks? Clawhammer and Fiddle from Scratch? Another Stringband week with the Buzzards? I’m a hopin.

Now back to work here in Ohio. Got the trailers moved around, the lawn almost done (thanks to Randy and family) and the 68 Airsteam Ambassador for sale.

See ya at Clawcamp!

Play Nice,
Dan

We had a great time, didn't we, Dan?! :o) Long, lost brother, indeed. LOL That whole week was just a blur, and I wasn't even doing any work-shop stuff, and very little fiddlin'! Be looking for your return trip, for sure. You know how it is, and things will work out, as they are meant to be. Gotta' love how that works. :o)

So Dan, does M-D really look like his avatar?

Man, I keep tellin' ya', that was a "baby picture"! I'm all purple now. Same irresistible looks, though. Women are always wanting to hug me. ;o)
