I have never blogged before, and suspect it's the height or depth of commonality.
When I grow up I want to be a snob.
This Saturday I am playing at a festival at Woburn Sands in Bucks England (about slightly lower right of centre on the big map), but I won't be fiddling, just singing and playing guitars.
It's the first real platform for getting back on the road and gigging, and it's exciting.
When I did it the first time, I was young, cocky and had total conviction in my abilities. This time round I am a little wiser. (I'm still young and cocky)
I tease.
I am 65 this year, and 'retired' early so I could sit around and play MMORPG's and watch TV. Oh yeah, and drink a few beers.
But it isn't working, I will go to an early grave feeling miserable, and would much rather wake up in some field miles from anywhere, shrug off the cold, put the kettle on, blow my fingers, and get a sudden thrill of the beauty of an English Spring morning and wonder what I am going to play at that nights gig.
So it's a great challenge, and a very scary one too.

We're glad to see you back, John! As to blogging being the height or depth of commonality, I suspect, based on my last blogpost and reactions to it, that it's depths for me!

Life is going okay, John, though my brain has puddled into a melted blob of wax in this heatwave we're having. S'okay though, I just fiddle slower so I don't sweat as much.
