Good Morning all & Happy Memorial Weekend!
I've gotten creative with violin & viola tailpieces lately & wanted to share with you all-there's a pic of one of them here www.mandolinbabe.info using semi precious stone cabachons & beadwork. So far the idea seems to be a good one-I'm getting more tailpieces to work with and I'm pleased with the results.
It's getting warm out here-finally-and I'm hoping for that cool down that's been predicted for tomorrow. I'll be updating the pic of my fiddle as I gt a different chinrest made of rosewood,I'm dressing up te tailpiece on it & am also awaiting the arrival of a shoulder rest as I'm realizing the importance of using one. Been working with Ren tunes on mandolin and recently pulled out my much neglected banjitar & was plunking Irish fiddle tunes on it last night. One of these days I need to get a cradle strap for it. I'm also designing more handy accessories for fiddle-will be making a demo of one today for myself to see how it works before going further. An alternative to a much used accessory,it's one of those "same but different" kinda things. I'll keep you posted. :-)
