Hey, if anyone's interested I'm playing in a concert tonight:
"Bringing it all back home"
songs in the 'old time' tradition of the Carter Family, Stanley Brothers, and Flatt and Scruggs
Saturday, May 8th, 7:30 PM
Southside Presbyterian Church (the Kiva)
317 W. 23rd Street, Tucson AZ
with special guest Big Jim Griffith!
Cost: $10, it goes to support the activism of the church (which is actually pretty awesome, they work on border issues and stuff)
It's more gospel/bluegrassy style than I'm used to, but it should be a lot of fun. We might slip an OT tune or two in somewhere. The singing is fabulous, so come if you like this kind of stuff. A lot of songs are religious (gospel!!), but the show itself is just meant to celebrate the music and welcomes everyone regardless of your beliefs.

I'd like to make a request (from Alabama) for Jim to sing Carve The Possum, and rap that ole 5 string!
