Art Bryan will be here soon!

Posted by bj on Monday, April 19, 2010

I'm absolutely totally looking forward to Art Bryan's visit at the end of the week.

Art and I met up at my second Lake Genero last fall. Serendipity put us next to each other camping, and we ended up jamming together for pretty much most of the weekend, as well as sharing meals, beer, and lots of laughs. Between Art camped on one side, and Terri camped on the other, it was an incredible weekend. Terri and Art already knew each other and had shared tunes before. I ended up sandwiched between 'em and having my ears fed from both sides. And the magic happened. Pretty much whatever went in my ears came out my fingers. This had happened once before for one or two tunes, but never for most of the dang weekend! Such a change from the year before, when I had only been fiddling a year and couldn't keep up with a single tune!

Then in November I ended up at Fiddle Hell, and Art and I got to play together for two whole days again.

This time we'll only get an evening, but wow, I'm so primed for this. I just know that jamming this Friday will be as good as it ever gets. Art knows more tunes than just about anyone else I've met. I suspect he knows more tunes than God.

The plans for this one-time jam came together as if it was meant to be. Donald Danart Cooper offered us the use of his brand new coffeehouse, Coffee Coop's, outside Belvidere NJ on Rt 519. The jam will be part of his Grand Opening Week celebration.

Talk about getting primed for festival season! Jane, Christian and I will be playing ALL WEEKEND from early morning until we drop, both Saturday and Sunday for the Lambertville Shad Festival.

And there is more coming up . . .

Drat, and here I am 12,000 miles away. :-) See y'all at Black Creek in May, then.

Hey I just drove passed the Coffee Coop yesterday, first time I noticed it. I was wondering what it was all about.
I should be there unless the volcano ash gets really bad.

Cool Beans! David and Corey are trying to work it in. I hope so. Would be nice to have a bunch of fiddlers! Ty is coming, and Mando Mike. We'll probably get a few others.

Sounds like great fiddling! Art sure is a great resource and great person, too.
Have fun!
(Any jamming down near Easton between May 16th and May 22nd?)

If you will be down here, we can make sure it happens. Our regularly scheduled jam is on the 25th (2nd and 4th tuesday.) PM me and we'll get 'er going! Now that Donald has made the coffeehouse outside Belvidere available to us for jams, it makes it all much easier, at least up until he starts scheduling regular entertainment (if he does.)
