My new (used, 2005 model) Bart Reiter Standard 5-string openback came today. I love it. Lots more volume and pop than my last one. Did a trade with Spruce Tree Music in Madison, WI. Someone's played it heavily, you can tell, but it's in really good shape. Got to now venture out into clawhammer from this 2-finger thumb lead picking I've been doing.
I really like getting new things to try out, especially instruments. This very well could be my last banjo (but I think I remember saying that about an old fiddle I had, 8 or 9 fiddles ago...).
Gonna be a good, fun weekend, yall.

Congrats! I know the feeling. I haven't yet concluded the negotiation, but I have a very sweet banjolin sitting in between my fiddles right now, home on approval. I'm liking it a LOT!
Have fun playing with your newest family member!

Good for you, David. It's always great finding a nice instrument.
