Wow...it has been quite some time since I've written. Right now I'm teaching 2 students the fiddle and practicing when I can. I'm in the process of joining in with a local jam band which should be fun. As of October I'm no longer with Lykens Valley Bluegrass Band. They are currently in the studio with a new fiddle player recording the CD that I was supposed to be on. I had so many great ideas and songs picked out, but I will just hold on to them for another project if I ever get the chance again.
I was let go from the band via text message, so it put me in a depressing state musically and emotionally, but I am always looking for new things and know that good things come to those who wait!
I've also started picking up guitar and hope that I can start to sing more now that I'm learning to play.
Check out my sister's channel for some really great music: http://www.youtube.com/SimonPatrickLover77
Thanks for reading! =)

Heather it seems there's always good Bluegrass bands looking for a fiddler. You'll find some good folks again soon. What part of Pa cause I know of a band that's been looking. Their located on the NE side of Pa. They started up about a year ago, but making a pretty fast name for themselves.

Hi Heather. . .definitely keep up with that fiddle. What a wonderful gift you give students when you teach them music. I'm a newbe on the fiddle hangout but I've been in a few bands (not a newbe to band politics) and understand completely. Don't let it put a damper on your love of music. Keep at it and you will be amazed at what develops. Play because you love it and the band will find you!

If they were the type of folks that would let you go with a text message then you are better off without them. Keep plugging.

love your singings and harmonies and your fiddle playing is excellent. I guess your old band had to get someone like Allison Krause or Mark Oconnor to take your place in the band. Keep it up.

Totally i am with the others they sound as though they are worth the time of day if they treat people like that. You keep playing and get together a better band don't worry what goes around comes around
