Hi folks
I'm sorry I'm not on here more often. This is a busy time at work for me, but I am happy to state that I am still alive and well at fiddling. Still putting my 1 to 1.5 hours in everyday, and a lesson once a week.
However, I am noting here that as of yesterday,I have a bad case of lousy fiddliotosis. Right now, nothing is playing right. My bow hold is wandering, my left hand is griping too hard, my left and right hands are out of coordination, intonation is way off, my fingers won't do the little patterns that I was playing oh so much better week by week. Songs I thought I was making headway on a week ago now sound like I just started on them. Double stops? what's that?
Officially a slump, a head game.
How many people do you think have taken the little jerk by the neck and smack it to firewood during these times?
Now I've read prior posts. Work through it, back to basics, you'll emerge better than before. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm just noting the date here and want to see how long before I feel i'm out of it. Maybe Vassar Clements is waiting on the other side of this.

You will come out of it, and find you have moved a little closer to your goal.

To me, the fiddle is 2 steps forward, 1 step back. What a humbleing instrument!

Thanks all. BJ is it so funny how close your blog that day is to mine. I guess the only answer is to keep plugging away.
