Working on my next instrument, the neck is just a "little" rough yet.The wood is from the late Ray Doerr. He bought the violin inventory of V. C. Squier Company in the 60's when they went out of business. It is really a joy working with well aged wood. Not to mention I think it contributes to the sound and is very stable during the making process.

Very nice. My current build will have a neck, that I've already bandsawed out, that came from my firewood pile, 4 years ago, a beautiful piece of Sugar Maple that I could not bring myself to feed the hungry woodstove.
