Well as the norm has become for awhile my chance to get online is not very frequent. So before Christmas has already passed and the new year has started I wanted to wish everyone here at FHO a merry Christmas and hope that your holidays are cheerful this year. As a note on my fiddle playing it seems that I have hit a bit of a plateau. But that is to be expected. I have found that at least with keeping up with my lessons it has helped to keep me motivated in pushing through.
Still currently working on using the pinky which is getting easier as I go and more and more often I get the right note, tunes that I have been working on to strengthen the pinky is Tennesse Waltz, Sailors Hornpipe and Bonapartes Retreat. My current New Year's resoultion is to set up a consistent time each day to practice, with the holidays I have gotten bad with that. I also have decided that I need to work on my scales. I had worked on them when I first started but I have left them by the wayside. With doing away with the training wheels of the tapes on my fingerboard, I have become slightly sloppy in my finger positions. Also working on scalces will allow me to work on the bowing patterns that my instructor has given me.
Well until next year or until I can get on again, which ever one comes first, have a safe and happy holiday.

Yes, the pinky. Be quite proud of your pinky callous.
IN time you ear will replace the tape. Don;t worry.
I second what you said about being consistant re practice time. I practice for 2 hours plus after supper.
It helps. Whatever you do, keep at it.
Good to hear from you again, and keep at it.
Merry Christmas...

I've found if I don't set aside a specific time each day, I'm sunk. Have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Be safe and watch out for the freezing rain that's coming this way.
