Well, today during practice I brought down the old mac and gave the MP3 a try. I finally got the flow figured out from garage band to iTunes to the upload here. Now if the fiddle playing could be figured out that fast.
Anyway, for your enjoyment (laughter) I've attached 2 tunes I played. Boil Dem Cabbage and Old Dan Tucker. I would have played more...but that's all I know. Feel free to comment. Any advice is appreciated.
I wouldn't have any fragile glassware around when you start either song!

I think you did a great job!!! Intonation is very good, and you pulling a nice sound with your bow. You'll be one of those that advance real quickly!!! Nice Going!!

You're too kind Denise and thank you. I really like the fiddle and bow. I look forward to Michael getting that new website going.

Yup. I think you're doing great!
Here's something I think you might enjoy. http://oldtownschool.org/fiddle/fun/ It's a link to the Old Town School of Folk Music's fiddle tune archive and you can find all sorts of tunes played with a nice groove even though they're played slowly. I think Paul Tyler does a nice job demonstrating Boil Them Cabbage!

At 3 weeks, you've got a good handle on rhythm, timing and intonation. You've been practicing hard! My advice is keep at it and this time next year you'll be knocking 'em dead. ( in a good way :-)
